DETECTION OF FOOD ADULTERATION IN CARDAMOM
ADULTERANT
1. The essential oil is removed and the pods are faced with talcum powder.
TEST
1. On rubbing, the talcum will stick to finger.
2. On tasting if hardly any aromatic taste, it indicates removal of essential oil.
